Enjoy spectacular views of the snow capped Himalayas from the various high mountain passes, mingle with the locals, dip in a traditional wooden tub of hot stones and visit awesome places and enjoy the intricate art and architecture that is evident in almost everything and everywhere. Enjoy the ride through the mountains as you drive from high mountain passes to lush green valleys and riverside and be prepared for temperate to tropical weather conditions.

Day 01: Arrive at Paro

Upon arrival at the Paro International airport, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Paro.

Visit Paro Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang in the afternoon.

Overnight in Paro.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Thimphu

In Thimphu, visit the National Memorial Chorten (stupa), and drive to Kuensel Phodrang where a large statue of Buddha Shakya Muni is being built. In the afternoon, visit Zorig Chusum (the Institute of Arts and Crafts) and the Craft Market for Religious items and souvenir shopping.

Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 03: Thimphu - Punakha

Drive about two hours to Punakha. On the way, stop at Dochula pass to witness the famous 108 Druk Wangyel Chortens (Stupas) and visit Chimi Lhakhang. Visit Punakha Dzong in the afternoon.

Day 04: Punakha - Gangtey - Bumthang

Visit the beautiful Gangtey valley and the Gangtey monastery before lunch. Then drive to Bumthang via the Pelela pass. Visit Chendebji Chorten on the way. Built during the first half of the 18th century by a lama named Shida, in order to nail into the ground a demon who had been terrorizing the inhabitants of the Chendebji and Ada valleys, this Nepalese styled chorten has eyes painted at the four cardinal points.

Overnight in Bumthang.

Day 05: Sightseeing in Bumthang

Visit some of the holiest places such as Kurje Lhakhang, Mebar Tsho, Jambay Lhakhang and Tamshing.

Day 06: Bumthang - Thimphu

Drive back to Thimphu.

Day 07: Excursion to Paro Taktsang or Tiger's Nest

Today we will make a hike to Paro Taktshang Monastery, the most famous and sacred monastery in Buddhism world. Taksang means “TigerNest” named after Guru Rinpoche reportedly flew to this site riding on the back of a flying tigress late in the 9th century. We have to walk about 2hours up steep from the road end. The trail climbs through beautiful pine forest, many of the trees festooned with Spanish moss, and an occasional grove of fluttering prayer flags. Lunch will be served at Taktshang cafeteria.

On our way back, drive to the village of Drukgyel and visit the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, built in 1649 to commemorate the victory over Tibetan invasion and Kyichu Lhakhang, it is one of the two most sacred and the oldest temples in Bhutan, built in 7th century by Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo (the 33rd Tibetan king, who is also the manifestation of avoloketeshivara, commonly known to Bhutanese as Chenrize). Evening at leisure, dinner and overnight stay at Paro Hotel

Day 08: Departure from Paro International Airport

In morning drive to Paro International Airport where your guide will accompany you to bid you farewell.
